Vivo has officially introduced its X500 smartphone lineup to the global market, building on the success of its predecessors. This new series, comprising the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, is engineered to excel in video capture and offers a suite of advanced features for photography enthusiasts and general users alike. With robust specifications and innovative software, these phones aim to redefine mobile videography and user experience across numerous regions.
Advanced Videography Features and Premium Hardware
The Vivo X500 series, including the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, is designed for exceptional video recording, featuring 4K/240fps slow-motion capture and an extended dynamic range for superior visual quality. The Pro models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, ensuring smooth and powerful performance. Both X500 Pro and Pro Max come equipped with a 50MP selfie camera, 90W wired and wireless charging capabilities, and IP68/69 ratings for enhanced durability. Running on OriginOS 7, layered over Android 17, these devices offer features like auto-framing video, dual-camera recording, and the Origin Workbench multitasking tool, providing a comprehensive and fluid user experience.
The X500 Pro Max, the top-tier model, boasts a 6.85-inch QHD+ 144Hz OLED screen and a 7,800mAh battery, while the X500 Pro features a slightly smaller 6.36-inch 1.5K 144Hz OLED display and a 6,510mAh battery, appealing to those who prefer a more compact device. Both Pro variants share the advanced Sony LYTIA L910 main camera sensor, which is the first LOFIC sensor in a Vivo phone, providing an impressive 17 stops of dynamic range specifically in Log, Vivid, and Golden Hour modes. The X500 Pro Max distinguishes itself further with a 200MP 85mm periscope camera, while the Pro model includes a 64MP 85mm LYTIA-610 periscope shooter. Beyond hardware, these phones support advanced videography features like 4K/120fps HDR capture, lock-on subject tracking, and long-range motion snapshots, with the Pro Max offering exclusive “Anyplace Telephoto Tracking” at 10x to 30x zoom and 60fps autofocus tracking in high-resolution video.
The Standard X500 and Global Availability
The standard Vivo X500, while positioned as the more accessible option, still offers a compelling flagship experience. It is driven by the Dimensity 9600M chip, a powerful processor from the previous generation, ensuring robust performance for everyday tasks and multimedia. Key features include a substantial 7,500mAh battery and a 6.59-inch 1.5K 144Hz LTPS OLED screen, which maintains a smooth refresh rate down to 60Hz. This model is well-equipped for photography with a 50MP LYT-828 main camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP 72mm telephoto camera, supporting a 200mm telephoto extender for approximately 8.7x optical zoom.
Vivo has launched the X500 series across a wide array of global regions, including countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas, though notably excluding the US and UK markets. The X500 will be available in classic Black, Gray, and White colors, with pricing to be confirmed. The X500 Pro begins at €1,399 (approximately $1,560) for the 12GB/256GB configuration, and the X500 Pro Max starts at €1,599 (around $1,780) for the same memory variant. Pro models will be offered in Black, Gray, Orange, and White. It's important to note regional battery variations: the X500 Pro Max in Europe will feature a 6,570mAh battery, and the X500 Pro in Austria will have a 5,300mAh battery, differing from the global 6,510mAh model, while the standard X500 retains its 7,500mAh battery globally.
