The Veteran Guard's Initiative for an NBA Return

Seasoned guard Victor Oladipo is actively seeking another opportunity in the National Basketball Association. He recently announced plans to conduct a dedicated workout session for league representatives in Las Vegas this coming Tuesday.

Event Details and Attendees

The 34-year-old athlete shared on social media that the session is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m. local time. Guiding the workout will be Dallas Mavericks assistant coach, Phil Handy. Oladipo extended an invitation to all interested NBA front office executives, scouts, coaches, and other league officials.

Oladipo's Illustrious Past

Selected as the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Oladipo enjoyed his most successful seasons with the Indiana Pacers. During his tenure there, he earned accolades such as Most Improved Player, selections to the All-NBA Third Team and All-Defensive First Team, and two All-Star appearances.

Overcoming Career-Altering Injuries

However, Oladipo's career trajectory underwent a significant shift following a severe quadriceps tendon rupture in 2019. He subsequently battled a series of other major injuries, including another quadriceps surgery in 2021 and a torn left patellar tendon during the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

Recent Performance and Future Aspirations

His last appearance in an NBA game was on April 22, 2023. In the previous season, Oladipo competed for the Wisconsin Herd in the G League, where he averaged 14.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.7 steals across 26 games. Although his G League rights were later transferred to the Cleveland Charge, he did not play for that team's affiliate. Despite these challenges, the two-time All-Star remains committed to his NBA comeback bid.
