However, the growing computational demands of AI, as seen with features like Apple Intelligence and Google Gemini, suggest that 8GB might soon feel constrained for users who heavily rely on such advanced capabilities.

For more demanding users, 12GB of RAM is typically found in flagship models and comfortably manages extensive multitasking, photo and video editing, and advanced AI processes. While this level of memory ensures smooth performance, it often comes at a premium, requiring users to weigh the benefits against the increased cost. At the high end, 16GB of RAM is reserved for true power users who engage in intensive tasks like raw 4K/8K video editing, high-performance gaming, and running local AI models. This capacity offers a desktop-like experience and a degree of future-proofing against increasingly sophisticated software, but it is largely superfluous for the average consumer.

The continuous escalation in RAM costs, coupled with manufacturers' unwavering commitment to integrating higher capacities into their flagship devices, indicates a persistent trend of rising smartphone prices. Therefore, understanding your actual RAM needs is critical to making an informed purchasing decision and avoiding unnecessary expenditure on features that may not significantly enhance your daily mobile experience.
