Specifically, they can view daily usage over the past week and see the average daily engagement, offering a clear picture of their teen's online habits.
Setting Boundaries with Daily Time Limits
In addition to monitoring, parents can now enforce daily time limits on Threads. This feature ensures that the set limit applies across all devices their teen uses, such as smartphones and laptops, promoting consistent screen time management. This allows for a more balanced digital lifestyle.
Managing Nighttime Access and Privacy
Parents gain further control by being able to restrict or block their teen's access to Threads during nighttime hours. By default, notifications are muted and auto-replies are enabled for all teens between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., contributing to better sleep patterns. Furthermore, parents can manage who can tag their teens in posts, adding another layer of privacy and protection.
Automatic Safeguards and Parental Customization
Threads already incorporates built-in protections for teenagers, including private accounts and restricted content viewing. With the new updates, parents now have the authority to decide whether teens under 16 can alter these default strict settings. This provides flexibility while maintaining a secure environment.
