Samsung's browser application for Wear OS has long been recognized for its utility, even supporting video playback from platforms like YouTube on smartwatches. The latest update further refines this experience by introducing a highly anticipated feature: the ability to download images and GIFs directly from the web.
Seamless Image Downloading Process
With the updated Samsung Browser, users can now effortlessly save web content. By simply long-pressing on an image while browsing, a "Download image" option appears, allowing for quick and convenient saving of visual media to the smartwatch's internal storage.
Accessing Your Downloaded Media
A new "Downloads" section has been integrated into the browser's home page, providing a centralized location for all saved images. While this section displays thumbnails of the downloaded files, users will need a compatible third-party file manager or gallery application to fully view and manage these images.
Managing Stored Content
All downloaded images are stored in a dedicated "Downloads" folder within the smartwatch's internal memory. The application also provides functionalities for managing these files, including the option to delete individual images or multiple selections by long-pressing on them.
Supported Formats and Limitations
The Samsung browser currently supports downloading images in PNG, JPG, JPEG, and GIF formats. There is a size limit of 10MB per image or GIF. This feature is now live; users simply need to update their Samsung Browser application on Wear OS to access these new capabilities.
