Experience a New Era of Automated Home Cleaning

Unveiling the Roborock Saros 20 Neo: Design and Functionality Insights

The Roborock Saros 20 Neo distinguishes itself with a redesigned docking station, echoing elements from the Qrevo series. This station adeptly manages the robot's cleaning and waste disposal, providing a 3-liter dirty water tank and a 4-liter clean water tank. A separate compartment for detergent is cleverly integrated beneath the primary water reservoirs. The system employs 100°C hot water to sanitize mop pads, subsequently air-drying them at 55°C to prevent bacterial growth and odors. A substantial 2.7-liter dust bag offers up to 65 days of maintenance-free operation.

A key difference from the Saros 20 lies in the Neo's retractable LiDAR dome, which allows it to reduce its height to 79.8mm, enabling access under low-lying furniture. While the Saros 20 boasts a fixed, slightly more advanced navigation system, the Neo's adaptive dome provides similar functionality with a minor trade-off in agility. The robot also includes a compact, easily accessible dustbin for regular filter cleaning, essential for maintaining optimal suction.

Advanced Cleaning Capabilities and User-Friendly Control

The Saros 20 Neo's underside features two microfibre mop pads, applying an impressive 14N of downward pressure for superior cleaning. Its FlexiArm mop extends to reach tight corners and under furniture, while the FlexiArm side brush meticulously sweeps dust from edges. The innovative DuoDivide brush bar prevents hair tangling by directing strands to the center for efficient suction.

Equipped with AdaptiLift, the Saros 20 Neo can effortlessly navigate thresholds up to 8.7cm and elevate its body to clean deep-pile carpets. For carpet avoidance, it can lift its mop pads or even detach them at the docking station for vacuum-only operations. Simplified controls on the robot itself allow for basic cleaning commands, while the comprehensive Roborock app unlocks advanced functionalities.

Intelligent Mapping and Customized Cleaning Programs

Upon initial setup, the Saros 20 Neo performs a swift mapping run to create a detailed layout of your home, which can be customized within the app to define rooms and merge spaces. Advanced features include setting no-go zones and designating furniture-specific cleaning areas, ideal for quick clean-ups after meals. The app offers versatile cleaning modes, including vacuum-only, vacuum and mop, mop after vacuuming, or mop-only.

Users can fine-tune cleaning parameters, selecting vacuum power, mop water levels (with 30 options), cleaning routes, and the number of passes. While the extensive water level options offer precision, a more streamlined selection could enhance user experience. Four primary power modes are available for vacuuming, with an additional high-power option exclusively for vacuum-only tasks.

Exemplary Performance Across Diverse Cleaning Scenarios

In rigorous testing, the Saros 20 Neo demonstrated outstanding vacuuming efficacy. It effortlessly removed 20g of flour from test carpets and hard floors within two passes, showcasing its potent 36,000Pa suction power. The DuoDivide brush proved highly effective in preventing hair tangles, collecting all human hair without issue. While it struggled slightly with flour accumulation along kitchen plinths, requiring manual intervention, its overall vacuuming performance remained impressive.

The mopping function excelled in stain removal. Coffee and red wine stains were completely eradicated in two passes. A pre-vacuuming phase followed by mopping effectively cleaned mud stains. For stubborn, dried ketchup, the robot significantly reduced the stain after two passes, achieving complete removal after a brief application of kitchen cleaner. Navigation was consistently excellent, with the robot adeptly maneuvering around obstacles and beneath furniture, albeit with a slight pause for LiDAR dome retraction. With a battery life of up to 256 minutes and a quiet operation at 58.3dB, the Saros 20 Neo offers efficient and unobtrusive cleaning for large homes.
