This continued availability stems from a recently established licensing agreement between RingConn and Oura, the company that had successfully pursued a patent infringement claim against RingConn and another competitor, Ultrahuman.
Previously, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled that both RingConn and Ultrahuman had violated Oura's design patents, leading to cease and desist orders for both companies. These orders were scheduled to be enforced on October 21. While RingConn navigated a resolution, securing a licensing deal that allows its products to remain on the market, Ultrahuman has not yet announced a similar agreement and is consequently facing a ban on importing or selling its smart rings in the US.
