Consequently, any construction work, including even minor repairs like roof maintenance, becomes subject to rigorous oversight by local and conservation authorities.

Despite the regulatory challenges, Hammond remains unwavering in his commitment to proceed with the renovations. He expressed his determination to the BBC, stating his intention to "find a way to share" his home with the bats.
