Pillar Capital Management Limited, a prominent Bermuda-based firm specializing in collateralized reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) investments, has recently announced a significant addition to its team. This move highlights the company's commitment to bolstering its analytical and strategic capabilities within the dynamic insurance and reinsurance markets. The firm has been actively expanding its senior leadership, reflecting its growth and increasing influence in the global ILS landscape.

Enhancing Actuarial Expertise for Future Growth

Strategic Appointment of an Experienced Actuary

Pillar Capital Management Limited, a key player in the collateralized reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment sector based in Bermuda, has officially welcomed Jessica Ferreira to its team as an Actuary. This appointment is a strategic step to reinforce the firm's actuarial capabilities and support its growing investment management activities.

Jessica Ferreira's Professional Background and Career Ascent

Ms. Ferreira transitions to Pillar Capital from KPMG, where she dedicated almost three years to various actuarial positions. Her work at KPMG, specifically within its Bermuda division, centered on property and casualty (P&C) insurance and reinsurance. Her tenure at KPMG began in December 2023 as an Actuarial Associate, leading to a promotion to a senior role in October 2024, and subsequently to Actuarial Assistant Manager in late 2025.

Prior Experience in Financial Risk Analysis

Before her engagement with KPMG, Jessica Ferreira spent approximately two years at FirstRand, a financial institution. In this role, she served as an Asset and Liability Management Risk Analyst, gaining valuable experience in financial risk assessment and management, which complements her actuarial expertise.

Pillar Capital's Substantial Asset Management Portfolio

As of the latter half of 2025, Pillar Capital boasted an impressive portfolio with over US $4.3 billion in assets under management. This substantial figure underscores the firm's significant presence and influence in the insurance-linked securities market, positioning it as a major investment manager.

Recent Enhancements to the Leadership Structure

The company has actively fortified its leadership team over the past year. Notably, in October of the previous year, Kevin Ronaldson was elevated to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Following this, in December, Pillar Capital recruited Ken Mahadeo, an accomplished veteran in the ILS industry and former SS&C employee, as its Vice President of Operations, further diversifying its senior talent pool.
