The primary reason for the cancellation is the dismal sale of VIP tickets, as disclosed by event organizer Eric Deters. Despite offering free general admission, the financial model relied heavily on these premium ticket purchases.
Deters, a 63-year-old who initiated this annual gathering four years ago, had anticipated that affluent individuals, with whom he frequently interacts and extends courtesies, would financially underpin the event through the acquisition of $1,000 VIP passes. However, to his dismay, only six VIP tickets were sold by Monday morning, a revelation that led to profound disappointment and a sense of betrayal. He publicly stated his intention to cease extending favors to those who failed to support the festival financially, vowing never to promote the event again.
Deters later clarified that the cancellation was not due to a lack of general enthusiasm from MAGA supporters, who he believes consistently show up for the event. Instead, he attributed the issue to pre-existing financial commitments that prevented him from personally funding the festival as he had in previous years. He also absolved Kid Rock, who was booked merely to speak and not perform, from any responsibility, emphasizing that the artist had no significant ties to the event's operational or financial aspects. The VIP package included exclusive viewing areas, catering, and meet-and-greet opportunities with featured personalities such as Fox broadcaster Joe Concha, Rep. James Comer, and boxer Jackie Kallen.
