Reporting directly to GRS President Matthew Moore, Sinniah will be tasked with spearheading efforts to enhance the connection between the company's risk and capital functions. A core aspect of his new position involves identifying and cultivating novel business avenues, alongside refining how GRS allocates capital to generate greater value for its clientele and collaborators.
Given Sinniah's extensive background in reinsurance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate development, there is an anticipation that his role will particularly focus on leveraging alternative capital sources and insurance-linked securities (ILS). Liberty Mutual has historically demonstrated a robust engagement with third-party reinsurance and ILS capital, notably through catastrophe bond sponsorships and reinsurance sidecar arrangements. Sinniah's expertise is expected to further fortify this aspect of the business, exploring innovative ways to deploy capital effectively.
Prior to joining Liberty Mutual, Sinniah held the position of President of Reinsurance & Capital at Miller, an independent broking group. His career also includes significant tenures at Guy Carpenter, where he served as Head of Placement & Distribution and Chief Operating Officer for International & Global Specialties, and at Willis Re, where he was Managing Director, Global Head of Sales & Client Management. Sinniah commenced his journey in the insurance sector after gaining experience at the investment banking giant Goldman Sachs in both London and Hong Kong.
