Despite the apparent performance boost on paper, concerns are emerging regarding the practical implications of this powerful new chip. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 has a documented history of thermal management challenges in other devices, such as the OnePlus 15 and REDMAGIC 11 PRO. Integrating such a high-performance, heat-generating component into the compact and thin chassis of a flip phone like the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could potentially lead to overheating issues and compromise battery longevity.
