Arch Capital Group, a Bermuda-based specialist in insurance and reinsurance, has elevated Bryan Lynch to the pivotal role of Head of ILS Experience and Operations. This strategic move highlights Arch's continued focus on its insurance-linked securities (ILS) and retrocession activities, reinforcing its commitment to collaborating with external capital partners.

Arch Capital Strengthens ILS Leadership with Lynch's Promotion

In a significant development for Arch Capital Group, a prominent insurance and reinsurance provider based in Bermuda, Bryan Lynch has been promoted to lead its ILS Experience and Operations. Lynch, an expert in insurance-linked securities and retrocession, officially assumed this new position within Arch Reinsurance in April of this year, building on his six-year tenure with the company.

Lynch's journey with Arch Capital began in 2020, when he joined the Bermuda office as a Senior Operations Advisor for ILS and retrocessions. Before his time at Arch, he gained valuable experience at Aon Insurance Managers in Bermuda, a unit of the global insurance and reinsurance broker Aon. As Vice President of Insurance-Linked Securities at Aon, Lynch was instrumental in assisting major commercial re/insurance clients with their ILS management requirements. His responsibilities included establishing and licensing ILS and reinsurance entities, as well as overseeing the development, structuring, and management of various ILS transactions, such as catastrophe bonds and reinsurance sidecars.

Earlier in his career, Lynch held positions at HSBC Bank in both Bermuda and Dublin, Ireland. He also contributed his expertise in operations, reporting accounting, and audit to investment manager Amundi and consultancy firm EY.

With his profound knowledge in integrating ILS within organizational structures, Lynch is now tasked with optimizing and directing client services for Arch Capital's crucial capital partners. As Arch continues to engage with third-party capital investors, transferring risk through diverse structures, funds, and retrocessional arrangements, and fronting risks for partners like ILS investment managers, Lynch's leadership will be vital. This appointment underscores Arch's expanding ILS portfolio, as evidenced by recent reports of investment manager Eaton Vance allocating funds to Arch Capital's Voussoir Re Ltd. structure within its multi-asset strategy funds.

This strategic promotion reflects the growing importance of ILS in the re/insurance sector and Arch Capital's dedication to fostering strong relationships with its capital partners. Lynch's comprehensive background positions him uniquely to drive innovation and efficiency in this evolving landscape, ensuring seamless operations and enhanced client engagement for Arch's sophisticated ILS initiatives.
